To thoroughly study and implement the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress, according to its work plan for promoting and implementing the spirit, SIG held an enlarged meeting on the afternoon of November 24, inviting Prof. Zhao Gangyin, Director of the Department of Party Building Teaching and Research, and Director of the Party Research Institute, Shanghai Party Institute of CPC, to give a lecture on the Party Constitution newly revised at the 20th CPC National Congress.

Yu Beihua, Secretary of the CPC SIG Committee and Chairman of the Board of Directors, presided over the lecture. Members of SIG's leading body, as well as all Party members, executives and staff of SIG's headquarters and subsidiaries attended the lecture in the main and break-out venues.

From the important status and distinct features of the Constitution, understanding the significance of the revision of the Constitution at the 20th CPC National Congress, and fully grasping the key spirit and core essence of the revision, Zhao gave an in-depth interpretation of the content of the new Constitution. The report, which is systematic, comprehensive and well-focused, is of great significance to guiding SIG's executives and staff in further grasping the scientific connotation and significance of the revision, understanding the spiritual essence of the Constitution and thoroughly implementing the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress.

Yu noted that the Constitution is the general constitution of the CPC, the general rules that the entire Party must follow, as well as the fundamental code of conduct that all Party members must observe. The revision, which fully reflects the new achievements in adapting Marxism to the Chinese context and the needs of our times, the new ideas, new thinking and new strategies on national governance put forward by the CPC Central Committee since the 19th CPC National Congress, and the fresh experience of Party work and Party building, is of great and far-reaching significance.

Yu required that SIG's Party organizations at all levels should earnestly study the Constitution.

First, reading the original text

All the Party members should seriously study the original text of the Constitution, fully understand the significance of studying it, grasp its main content, study, observe, implement and uphold it more consciously.

Second, setting examples

Party members and cadres should play an exemplary role, take the lead in studying and observing the Constitution, regulate their words and deeds and guide their work in strict accordance with it, constantly enhance the consciousness of maintaining political integrity, thinking in big-picture terms, following the core of leadership and keeping in alignment with the central Party leadership, stay confident in the path, theory, system and culture of socialism with Chinese characteristics, and uphold General Secretary Xi Jinping's core position on the Party Central Committee and in the Party as a whole.

Third, doing practical work

All the executives and staff of SIG should transform the study results of the Constitution into an impetus for practice, go all out to fulfill the annual tasks based on the facts of the reform, innovation and development of SIG, plan for the next year's work and the new-round development of SIG, and make new contributions to the high-quality development of SIG.
